In the early 1990's different collegiate
teams in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Ontario, & Quebec
were established, independently of one another.
In 1995, after several years of independent competition,
an autumn championship tournament was arranged. Six teams
competed: two from Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Quebec. The
"National Championship" was held in Montreal.
Because of this 1995 competition, the Canadian Intercollegiate
Baseball Association was formerly established in 1996.
In 1996, there were 21 teams, playing a 16-game regular
season.
Currently there are 30 teams playing across Canada. The
CIBA is divided into three conferences
